Geoffrey Chaucer: "The Father of English Literature"
The very genius that wrote "The Canterbury Tales": a collection of tales told during a pilgrimage. Although Chaucer planned to write 120 tales, he only successfully finished to write 11 tales. My favorite tale is the "Pardoner's Tale". It became my favorite because it is easy to understand and it's moral lesson is good.
The Pardoner's Tale is a story of three men finding a thief named Death. On their way, an old man dress up in rags told them that he saw Death under the tree. When the three men went to look under the tree they saw bags of golds and jewelries. The three men decided that one of them should buy food and drinks and so they pick straws to pick someone to buy the stuffs. The youngest one was picked and bought the stuffs
When the youngest was gone the two others decided to murder him and split the prize for themselves. And while gone, the youngest decided to poison his two friends.
And so the youngest was stabbed, and the two ate the food and got poisoned in short they all die because of their "GREEDINESS".
There is one conclusion i have in mind. The Old man they met is the so called Death or the Devil and he purposely left the golds and jewelries because he knows what will happen next. That greediness will consume the Three shall be soon added to his kingdom... Coveting money is like Coveting Death.
